SeaGarden Cottage is a two-story bungalow just over a block from the beach, nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay in a classic seaside town. It's the quintessential beach bungalow, built in the 1930's but more recently expanded and remodeled with 4 bedrooms (sleeping 8) and 2 baths. Beautifully appointed and well maintained, it combines traditional beach cottage charm with modern comforts and amenities. It's our treasured escape from the hectic world and we're pleased to share it with you.
Pull into the semi-circular driveway with room for 3 cars (+one parking pass provided for on-street parking). Enter through the bright front porch with picnic table and butterfly chairs into the main living space centered around a large sofa, 44” flat-panel TV w/Blu-Ray player and stereo system, stone fireplace and wood-beam walls, opening into a sun-filled dining area with a large farm-style table and gleaming galley kitchen with complete cookware, dishes and utensils. To the right is one bedroom with built-in dresser, two closets, a chest of drawers and queen-size bed; adjoining a recently (2023) remodeled full bath with walk-in shower; and a knotty pine paneled bedroom with a full bed, a closet, 32” flat-panel Roku TV w/DVD player and VCR (many VHS tapes, mostly for kids).
Upstairs is the large master bath with tub; laundry room with stacking washer/dryer and closet space; master bedroom with a comfortable queen-size bed and chest of drawers; and 4th bedroom with twin beds, a chest of drawers and large closet.
Our vacation home by the sea is perfect for families (highchair and Pack-n-Play provided) or couples seeking a cozy retreat just a short stroll from the ocean and local restaurants. Walk out the front door and you can see the dunes and in a couple minutes you've got your toes in the ocean! After a day at the beach rinse off in the private outdoor shower (hot & cold water), cook out on the fenced rear deck and relax on the enclosed porch. On cool evenings curl up by the glowing gas fireplace. Or hop on your bike for the short ride up Bayard Ave. along Silver Lake to downtown Rehoboth, or take the stunningly beautiful 8-mile cruise south through Delaware Seashore State Park to Indian River Inlet with its immense undeveloped beach and bathhouse w/concessions (plus great striped bass and flounder fishing!).
True to the name SeaGarden Cottage, in season (~June-Sept.) there is full vegetable garden for you to pick and enjoy, along with various herbs and flowers as well.
As usual with beach houses you'll need to supply your own bed sheets/comforters and bath towels.
Our rental process is easy since can 'Book It' instantly and we'll respond within 24 hours. First half (50%) of rent is due 8 weeks before check-in (or upon reserving if you book instantly) and the balance 4 weeks later. After receipt of the final rent payment, we'll provide access details and additional info about 10 days before check-in to help make your stay enjoyable and relaxing.
In high season (June-August) we rent only by the week. SeaGarden Cottage is unavailable for rental from September through May. We do not rent during late Spring/early Summer Graduation/Senior Weeks.
SEAGARDEN COTTAGE IS GREEN! We have a 6 kW solar system to meet your energy needs with power from the sun! There is also a 240V, 50 amp NEMA 14-50 plug right by the driveway for charging your plug-in hybrid or EV fast and FREE! (A 40 amp portable charging station with 20-foot cable and J1772 plug is usually attached to this outlet, or you can use your own charger.)
